Airstream Flying Cloud Midnight Flamingo: A First Look

Airstream's Midnight Flamingo: A First Look

I recently had the opportunity to tour Airstream's new Midnight Flamingo travel trailer at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. This limited-edition trailer is based on the popular 25-foot Flying Cloud model, but it features several unique upgrades that give it a more distinctive look.

Exterior Features

The Flying Cloud Midnight Flamingo

The first thing you'll notice about the Midnight Flamingo is its black rock guards. These are made from a durable material similar to a bed liner, so they should provide excellent protection for the trailer's lower body panels. The trailer also has black badging, black wheels, and a 3-inch lift kit.

Interior Features

Inside, the Midnight Flamingo has a dark and sophisticated color scheme. The curtains, the cabinet handles and other fixtures are black. The trailer also has a new upgraded audio system from Klipsch.

My Thoughts on the Midnight Flamingo

Overall, I think the Midnight Flamingo is a stylish and well-equipped travel trailer. I especially like the black rock guards and the upgraded audio system. However, I'm not a big fan of the dark curtains. I think they make the interior feel a bit too dark and enclosed as well as being a magnet for dust and dog hair.

Here are some of the pros and cons of the Midnight Flamingo:

Pros:

  • Unique and stylish exterior

  • Durable black rock guards

  • Upgraded audio system

  • 3-inch lift kit

  • All-terrain tires

  • 300W solar

  • 200ah lithium batteries

Cons:

  • Dark curtains make the interior feel closed in

  • Some of the upgrades are cosmetic and may not be worth the extra cost

Who is the Midnight Flamingo for?

I think the Midnight Flamingo will appeal to Airstream enthusiasts who are looking for a unique and stylish trailer. It's also a good choice for people who plan to do a lot of off-roading, thanks to its 3-inch lift kit and all-terrain tires.

Additional thoughts:

  • The Midnight Flamingo is a limited-edition trailer, so it may be difficult to find one.

  • The price of the Midnight Flamingo has not been announced, but it is expected to be more expensive than the standard Flying Cloud model.

  • I'm curious to see how the Midnight Flamingo sells. I think it's a niche product, but it could be a popular choice for Airstream enthusiasts who are looking for something different.
