Meet Our new RV. It’s “Riveting”!
It’s been two years since our 2020 Leisure Travel Van Unity FX was delivered, and Janet, the dogs and I have had a blast in it. In fact, we had so much fun RVing in our LTV that we wanted to get a totally different RV experience, so we started looking at towables, fifth wheels in particular.
If you have ever heard our story, you know that when we first got the RV bug, we thought a 43 foot diesel pusher was what we wanted to travel the country in. Thank goodness we found Leisure Travel Vans and avoided those hotels on wheels. While a diesel pusher is perfect for some folks, we like to be a bit more nimble.
And that desire for “nimbleness” lead us to passing on a fifth wheel and looking at bumper pulls. Just as I had fell in love with Leisure Travel Vans on YouTube, the same happened with Airstream. I started watching videos and immediately knew the 9’6” tall, 27’ long Globetrotter was going to be our next RV.
The Globetrotter, is only two feet longer than our LTV, however paired with our 2022 Ford F-350 is nearly 50 feet long. So it is a bit more of a challenging drive for sure. But once you get to your destination, oh my!
The modern interior, massive panoramic windows and wide body give you the openness and airiness that our Leisure Travel Van just can’t do. Are we getting rid of the LTV? No way, we LOVE the LTV. The LTV is perfect for when you need to get somewhere fast and can’t take up a lot of room. The Airstream is perfect for those long, lazy stays like we enjoy doing in the fall, watching the leaves turn.
We are just now getting to know our Airstream, and learning all of her quirks and features. But we can already tell we are going to enjoy everything that Airstreams have to offer.
We will be documenting the journey on our YouTube channel, so you can join us as we learn and enjoy this aluminum adventure. But don’t fret if you are an LTV person, we will continue to dote over our LTV with videos and updates as well.
