SnapPads, An Essential upgrade for our Leisure Travel Van & Airstream
One of the very first upgrades we did on our Leisure Travel Van was to put SnapPads on our auto leveling feet. This has been fantastic, as I’ve never had to fish out any plastic or wooden blocks for better support, or to protect the ground or feet of my levelers.
Now, with the addition of our Airstream Globetrotter 27 FBT, SnapPads also were a welcome addition to our stabilizer jacks. Yes, the Airstream has stabilizers and not levelers. The LTV sure does spoil you in some things for sure. As far as leveling the Airstream, that will be for another video / blog post.
What’s the benefit of SnapPads? Several things.
A wider Footprint — This gives you much greater surface area for stability. The wider the base, the more stable.
Anti-Slip - The durable rubber SnapPad creates less slipping on terrain such as gravel, that is notorious for slippage with the plastic blocks.
Permanent Attachement - Like I said before, I never have to go digging any plastic or wooden blocks out of the storage bays, try to position just right and then lower my levelers / stabilizers. Much better experience with SnapPads.
Enhanced Protection - Your jacks, as well as the surface you are parked on are protected by the sturdy rubber SnapPads. Especially when RV parks require a barrier between your levelers / stabilizers and their ground surface.
Environmentally Friendly - As an RVer, this is really important to me. SnapPads are made out of discarded tires, keeping our landscape beautiful.
Electrical Insulation - Just like the tires on your RV or car, SnapPads put a rubber barrier between you and the ground, making sure an electrical storm doesn’t fry your coach (or you!).
I’m a huge fan of SnapPads and having them on both the Leisure Travel Van Unity and the Airstream Globetrotter, I can level and stabilize worry free with just the touch of a button.
