Some of our Favorite RV Essentials
In this blog post and video, I discuss some of the essential items that we never leave home without. These items will help to make your RVing experience more enjoyable, as they solve some common problems.
The first item on the list is our favorite freshwater hose from the Air Gear Store. These hoses are virtually indestructible and kink-free. I carry a 25 footer as well as a 50 footer as I place the Blu Tech water filter in between the water source and our RV.
Snap pads are another essential item for RVers. Snap pads are the perfect solution to protect your steel jack feet and the ground underneath it. It can be used on automatic levelers, stabilizers, and tongue jacks. Another benefit is the rubber SnapPads may help insulate your RV from indirect lightning strikes, so you don’t need to worry about damage to your systems or appliances.
Internet access is important for many RVers. We have been using Epic Off-Grid, a Verizon unlimited data plan that comes with a router for several years. So far, we have never had a problem with this plan and have even seen speeds of up to 500 megabits down. Having unlimited internet is so important for those rainy or hot days when you just want to sit back and binge your shows.
Another important item for Airstreamers is a set of replacement locks for their outdoor storage bays. We swapped out our factory locks for the replacement locks from the Air Gear store. What’s the big deal? Well, every Airstream comes with the same key for their outdoor storage bays, and these not only look better (chrome instead of black. Way more “Airstreamy”), but they are keyed differently from the factory locks. This will help to keep your belongings safe, as not every Airstream owner on the planet will have a key to your storage bays.
Finally, I always recommend taking a portable battery source. Egretech sent me their 300-watt, 260-watt hour battery station that has a unique, compact design. This is the perfect footprint for small RVs that can give you that bit extra power in the RV or away from it. This can be used to power CPAP machines, charge phones, laptops, and other devices. With 260ah, this station has plenty of juice in such a compact form. I love it.
