Lithium Upgrade Guide for Leisure Travel Vans & RVs

To get the most freedom out of our Leisure Travel Van, we upgraded to the Lithionics 315ah battery, a 3000 Watt inverter and moved the air conditioner breaker to the inverted side, allowing us to run the rooftop air powered by battery.

The 315ah Lithionics battery is the perfect solution for small RVs like our Leisure Travel Van Unity FX

The thought of being handcuffed to a power pole didn’t seem appealing when I first got my LTV, so I immediately purchased two 100ah Battle Born / Dragonfly batteries. I soon learned about the Lithionics 315ah and sent the Battle Born’s back. The Lithionics is such a sensible choices as it essentially gives me the capacity of 3.3 Battle Borns (traditional sized batterie) in the same small space LTV allots for batteries. HUGE WIN!

We don’t like being handcuffed to a power pole, and our Lithionics 315ah battery allows us the ultimate freedom.

Now when Janet and I want to stop and explore a small town, shop at antique shops or go hiking during the summer, we can leave the dogs in the LTV with the AC running off battery and no noisy, smelly generator where it’s not allowed, or drawing attention to your coach.

If you don’t plan on running your rooftop air on battery and have a 2020 or newer Leisure Travel Van with a 2000 Watt inverter, then you will just need either the 315ah battery or the 130ah batteries, which is an easy swap out. If you have a previous model year, or another brand of RV, check your wiring, inverter and solar controller specs to make sure they can handle charging this particular battery.
