The Perfect Fire Pit for a Leisure Travel Van or Airstream
If you own a Leisure Travel Van, Airstream, or RV, you’ve probably considered adding a fire pit to your setup. Not only do fire pits provide warmth and light in a beautiful way – they also allow for unrivaled outdoor experiences. Whether you are camping in the middle of nature or just want an outdoor space for entertaining guests, having a fire pit is essential. But with so many options out there it can be hard to know which one is right for your situation.
BLUU sent us their new portable propane fire pit and I can say it’s great quality, fantastic design and comes with all the features you would want, including a cast iron grate. Read below why I think a propane fire pit is the best choice for RVing.
Gas Fire Pits
If convenience is what you’re after then gas fire pits are the best option for your Leisure Travel Van, Airstream, or RV setup. Gas fire pits run on propane fuel which means they can be lit up quickly and easily with no mess whatsoever . You don’t have to worry about chopping wood or dealing with ashes either – just turn it on and enjoy! Most gas fire pits come with adjustable flames so you can control how hot it gets depending on what type of activity you plan on using it for (such as cooking over it).
This is why we love our BLUU portable propane fire pit so much. It’s the perfect size and super convenient. While I haven’t modified it to work with the quick connect on our RVs (the unit is regulated, so you would have a hard time getting enough fuel through the also regulated quick connect port) I purchased an Ignik 10lb propane bottle and case that will work with our fire pit, OONI pizza oven or anything else we wish to light.
One huge advantage of a propane fire bowl is that they are usually on the “OK to use” list when fire bans are in place and wood burning fire pits are not allowed. But wood burning fire pits are awesome too when they are able to be used.
Wood Burning Fire Pits
For those who really want to get back to basics, wood burning fire pits are an excellent choice. These don’t require any fuel other than logs and they provide plenty of warmth and light without any mess or fuss. They also add some flavor to your campfire cooking since the smoke from the logs gives food a unique smoky flavor that enhances its taste. Wood burning fire pits are very easy to use but require more maintenance than other types since you need to keep them clean and free from debris after every use.
The downside to wood burning fire pits, like the Solo Stove is many state parks and campgrounds have fire bans that don’t allow you to use your fire pit.
Conclusion
The right type of fire pit will greatly enhance your recreational vehicle experience by providing warmth and light outdoors no matter where you go! Whether portability is key for you or convenience is what matters most – there’s sure to be an option out there that meets all your needs perfectly. Take into consideration how often you plan on using it as well as if fire bans could affect your wood burning model when selecting the perfect fit for your setup. With these tips in mind, choosing a great fire pit should be a cinch! Good luck!
